Abstract
908,810. Dispensing measured quantities of liquids; coin-freed apparatus. TAYLOR, J. H., and ELSE, E. F. Sept. 29, 1960 [Sept. 30, 1959], No. 33216/59. Classes 27 and 106 (5). Two or more measuring chambers 1, 2 are interconnected at their top ends by a ducting or tube 9 having at least one non-return valve and they are alternately filled and emptied by changing over a multi-way valve 5. As shown, the tube has restricted orifices 10, 11 at each end to form seats for a ball 12, or roller, disc or cylinder, the diameter of which is just less than the diameter of the tube. As one chamber fills, the displaced air passes the ball seated above it and when the liquid reaches the top of the chamber it forces the ball through the tube to seat on the restricted orifice above the other chamber. Coin-freed mechanism may be provided.
