907,859. Joint-making packing. GACHOT, J. April 12, 1961 [Oct. 10, 1960], No. 13209/61. Class 122 (3). A gasket comprising an annular core 11, Fig. 5, enclosed in a casing of flexible synthetic plastic material which is not weldable to itself, such as P.T.F.E., is made by forming from the material a bellows element 9 consisting of two opposite folds #1, #2 and three flanks #1, #2, #3 of slightly greater width than the core, introducing the core between the flanks #1, #2 and folding the flanks #3, Fig. 7, through the opening 12 of the assembly on to the flank #1 so as to enclose the core 11. The bellows is formed by making successive cuts in a tube 1 of plastic material, Figs. 2 and 3, with a blade 4 carried by an adjustable support 5 while rotating the tube.
