[Also in Group XXVI] A refrigerant consists of, or includes at least one halogen containing compound in a refrigeration plant which comprises a rotary compressor (see Group XXVI) having means for the injections of a lubricating medium which also cools the refrigerant. The refrigerant has a solubility of not more than 10% by weight at a pressure of 10 atmospheres and a temperature of 55 ‹ C. in the lubricating medium. When using a synthetic lubricating oil, the preferred halogen containing compound is difluoromonochloromethane or difluorodichloromethane, and when the oil is a polyether, the compound is restricted to dichloromonochloromethane. When a mineral oil is used as a lubricant, the preferred compound is pentafluoromonochloroethane.
