The load-supporting surface 7 of a handtruck is inclined downwardly towards the centre line and is tapered from the wide end where it is supported on two wheels 5 towards the narrow end where it is supported on a single wheel, thereby allowing similar trucks to be nested. The recesses at the sides of the load-supporting surface may be filled by extension pieces secured to a frame hinged to the truck.
