A continuous casting mould is made in part at least of a precipitation hardened copper alloy containing more than 85% copper and an alloying element such as chromium, silicon, silver and beryllium in an amount of up to 3% of each of said elements, and with a thermal conductivity not substantially less than that of pure copper.
