Abstract

905,736. Self-feeding brushes. COHEN, E. July 5, 1961 [April 5, 1960], No. 11934/60. Class 19. In a brush having a hollow stock 5 through which water or other liquid may be fed to the bristles 8 and which is formed with an inlet duct 10 receiving a liquid-supply nozzle 12, the nozzle 12 is provided with at least one hole 34 which extends alongside the bore 24 thereof, one end 36 of each hole being open to the atmosphere and the other to the interior of the duct 10 so that the discharge from the nozzle can draw air into the stock. As shown, the nozzle 12 is screwed into one end of a detergent container 13 having pellets 21 of detergent therein, a nozzle 19 connected to a length of hose being screwed into the other end of the container. A rubber plug 28 having one or more radial holes 29 may be pushed into the section 22 of the nozzle bore to retain a gauze filter 27 therein. If the detergent container 13 is dispensed with the air holes 34, 36 may be formed in the nozzle 19 which is screwed directly into the inlet duct 10.
