Abstract
905,574. Generating combustion products under pressure. ENTWICKLUNGSBAU PIRNA VEB. June 29, 1961, No. 23506/61. Class 51 (1). A gas turbine combustion chamber comprises a plurality of separate flame tubes 1 and an annular mixing chamber formed by inner and outer shells 2 and 3 whose edges over lap the flame tubes and are spaced from them by plates 10 so as to form air gaps 11 between them with air scoops 12 formed in recesses 9 in the overlapping edge of the inner outer shells, each flame tube being rigidly fixed at only one point 13 between air scoops to each of both or either of the inner and outer shells, other points of attachment allowing relative peripheral displacement. Rivets 14 provide the rigid fixing at point 13 while rivets 16 fixed to the lugs 15 of the shells 2 and 3 slide in slots in the flame tubes to allow expansion.
