Abstract
905,131. Endless conveyers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 5, 1959 [Jan. 8, 1958], No. 374/59. Class 78 (1). Hollow cylindrical workpieces 2 are conveyed through an induction heating coil 7 by an endless conveyer comprising two parts 1, 3, which move in opposite directions, and at a different speed, so that the workpieces are rotated whilst being conveyed and are evenly heated all around. The upper conveyer part 3 comprises endless wires 14 secured in pairs by clamps 12 and driven by means 16 whilst the lower conveyer part 1 consists of a single pair of wires 4 driven by a motor 10. The workpieces are fed from a shoot 20 and are propelled through the coil 7 by projections 13 provided on the clamps 12. In another embodiment, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), spherical workpieces are conveyed through the induction coil. Chains or belts or the like may be substituted for both lower and upper parts of the conveyer.
