Abstract

904,529. Suspended ceilings. ROBERTSON (HOLDINGS) Ltd. Jan. 18, 1961 [Nov. 11, 1959], No. 38168/59. Class 20 (4). [Also in Group XXV] A blind fastener comprises two coacting components each of which consists of a metal strip bent through approximately 90 degrees to form an angle-piece and one arm 10 of each of said angle-pieces being apertured and formed with a shoulder 12 at each side which is spaced from the underside of the other arm 11 and which shoulders in use function to lock the fastener against vertical displacement. In use, the arms 11 are passed through an aperture 14 of, for example, sheet-metal flooring 15 and the two arms 10 are then brought together to cause the arms 11 to separate and lie on the upper surface of the flooring 15. The shoulder 12 abuts against the underside of the flooring 15 at the margin of the aperture 14 and when the arms 10 are joined together by, for example, bolts 16, the fastener is locked in the aperture. In a modification the two angle-pieces are pivotally or hingedly connected.
