Abstract

A coating composition comprises a solution containing an epoxy resin of the formula <FORM:0904163/IV(a)/1> where n is 3,7, the allyl ether of methylol phenol and a polyvinyl methyl ether in the proportions 56:32:12 by weight. The Specification also discloses said compositions containing finely divided magnetizable particles, e.g. magnetic iron oxide and curing agents for the epoxy resin, e.g. hexahydrophthalic anhydride, methyl nadic anhydride or tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, dissolved in butyrolactone and thinned by xylol. A specified solvent for the composition which may contain a silicone is a mixture of isophorone and ethyl amyl ketone diluted with xylol.
