A curing agent for epoxy resins is the adduct of 1 mol. of cyclododecatriene-(1,5,9) with more than 1 mol. of maleic anhydride. The curing agent may be used alone or in combination with a conventional accelerator or another acid anhydride, e.g. phthalic anhydride, tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, hexahydrophthalic anhydride, an adduct of maleic anhydride with methylcyclopentadiene or an adduct of 1 mol. of maleic anhydride with 1 mol. of cyclododecatriene-(1,5,9).
