Abstract

903,307. Garages. STOLL, H. July 16, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 24522/59. Class 20 (1). [Also in Group XXX] A second vehicle 20 can be parked on a movable platform 17 above a first vehicle 16 in the normal position in a garage 15. The platform 17 is rockable about a pivot 21 to a position (full lines) in which the vehicle 20 can be driven on or off the platform 17. The platform 17 may be operated electrically or hydraulically. As shown, the arrangement is such that a run-on portion 18 has to be raised about a pivot 19 to permit the vehicle 16 to be run in or out. In a modification (Figs. 1-5, not shown), it is not necessary to have a movable portion 18; moreover, the platform 17 may be suspended by links instead of pivots 21. The latter may also be replaced by interengaging rocking surfaces (Fig. 7, not shown) or by interengaging rollers and guide channels (Fig. 8, not shown). The platform 17 may have two transversely-extending depressions spaced respectively to correspond with the spacing of the wheels of the vehicle so as to positively locate the latter. The floor of the platform 17 may be corrugated and may drain into depressed channels formed at each side (Fig. 11, not shown). A gangway, which may include steps, may be disposed along the driver's side of the platform 17.
