Abstract
903,194. Capacitors. TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO. Ltd. Sept. 10, 1959 [Sept. 10, 1958], No. 30941/59. Class 37. In a wound capacitor electrodes 11, 12 are separated by a composite dielectric comprising at least one layer of porous absorbent material 13 and at least one layer of non-porous, non- absorbent material 14, the latter extending beyond both lateral edges -of the former. Examples of porous material are kraft paper and beneres (hemp) paper, and of non-porous materials :-polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, polyvinylidene chloride, polytetrafluoroethylene, and polychlorotrifluoroethylene. An improvement of n-vinyl carbazole polymer is suggested. Sections of capacitors having a moulded casing and a casing sealed at both ends with seals in which terminal leads are embedded are described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). Figures of 8%, and a fraction of 1% are given for the absorptive characteristic of the porous and non-porous materials.
