Abstract
903,011. Radio-receiving circuits; multiplex radio signalling. LOEWE OPTA A.G. March 4, 1960 [March 11, 1959], No. 7647/60. Class 40 (5). In a television receiver which can be switched for different systems, in particular for a system employing amplitude modulation for sound and alternatively the intercarrier system using frequency modulation for sound, means are provided to vary the sensitivity of the sound channel when receiving different systems. Tuning head 1 includes a frequency changer which feeds video I.F. amplifier 4 and also a branched sound I.F. amplifier 5 for amplitude modulated sound. When switched for a system employing intercarrier sound, in which the valve 4 also forms a sound channel amplifier, the absorption produced by the A.M. soundchannel tuned circuit 7, 8 is reduced by running the valve 5 into grid current. This is done by switching its grid leak-normally connected to a gain control voltage-to connect to the H.T.+ supply.
