A pneumatic three-term process controller comprises a proportional unit 1, Fig. 2, the output signal from which is fed to an integral unit 4 and to a proportional and derivative unit 3 and the output signals from the units 3 and 4 are fed to a mixing unit 5. The units 1, 3, 4 and 5 are all of the force balance type. A reference pressure unit 2 comprising a pressure-regulating valve determines the signal pressure for zero deviation. Adjustment of the throttle valves 39, 47 determine the integral and derivative action times, respectively, and adjustment of the double throttle valve 21 determines the proportional band.
