Abstract

900,560. Lathe details. SIROLA, F. July 29, 1960, No. 26529/60. Class 83 (3). A lathe or like tool-post assembly comprises a block 10, clamping plate 11 and co-operating pillar bolt and nut means 15, 18, 19. The block has a projecting dovetail 28 to take a tool-holder 14, one side of the dovetail being provided by a wedge-member 27 which is adapted to slide in a vertical slot or slots in the block. The inside surface of the wedgemember is provided with part-threads which engage with threads 38 provided on a rotatable sleeve 40. Rotation of the sleeve by the handle 42 raises or lowers the wedge to unclamp or clamp the tool-holder to the block.
