Abstract

900,093. Photographic transfer-reversal procedures. KODAK Ltd. Sept. 2, 1959 [Sept. 5, 1958], No. 28664/58. Class 98 (2). A 5 : 6 - dihydro - 4 - oxo - 1 : 3 - thiazine - 2 - thiol of formula where R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 may each be hydrogen or an alkyl group is used in either developer or receiving layer to result in a positive image of increased blackness. If used in the emulsion layer it is likely to produce fog although still improving the tone of the positive image. Six examples describe use of the above thiazine and its 6-methyl and 5-methyl derivatives, three of them having the thiazines in nuclei- and hypo-containing receiving layers and three in the developers for use with such receiving layers.
