Abstract

898,520. Endless belt conveyers. CORNISH, F. R. H. Jan. 5, 1961, No. 541/61. Class 78 (1). The lower run of a conveyer belt 1 is centralised by a roller unit 6 on either side of the belt, each roller 7 having a helical groove 11 slightly wider than the thickness of the belt. The surfaces of the rollers are preferably of rubber. When lateral displacement of the belt is sufficient to cause the belt to engage the lower end of the groove 11 of a roller 7, the roller is rotated and the belt edge raised. The belt thus tends to move away from the roller and is centralised.
