Abstract

898,488. Knitting machines. LIEBRANDT, K. Sept. 23, 1958 [Oct. 30, 1957], No. 30399/58: Class 74 (2). Presser bar 29, Fig. 1, or sinker bar 31, Fig. 2, is driven by a crank and linkwork mechanism consisting of two triple linkages 15, 17, 19 or 15, 17, 19<SP>1</SP> and 19, 21, 23, or 19<SP>1</SP>, 21, 23<SP>1</SP>, the member 19 or 19<SP>1</SP> being common to both linkages, and it and the member 23 or 23<SP>1</SP> rocking about fixed points ; and the first linkage is driven by the driving shaft 14, the link 15 being a crank on the shaft, and drives the second linkage which, in turn, drives the knitting tool 29 or 31 through a connecting rod 25 which is articulated at the pivot 22 between link 21 and link 23 or 23<SP>1</SP>. That end of rod 25 connected to the knitting tool is articulated to the free end of a lever 27 rocking about a fixed point 28. In the Figures are indicated the paths of the points 18, 22 as the crank rotates ; and the curves 30 and 32 indicate the paths of the presser bar and sinker bar respectively. The mechanism is submerged in oil contained in a housing 13. Specification 898,489 is referred to.
