898,143. Making profiled bars; altering physical properties; corrugating. HOESCH A.G. Oct. 28, 1959, No. 36619/59. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A method of manufacturing cold-rolled or cold drawn profiled members from steel strips or sheets is characterized in that the steel strips or sheets are corrugated transversely of their longitudinal axis whilst being held at their edges, after which they are so cold-rolled or cold drawn in a number of further stages to the desired profile in the longitudinal direction that the corrugations are removed. The strips or sheets may be held at one or more intermediate positions as well as at the edges. Roll profiles for corrugating the strips or sheets are shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3. The concavely ground roller is formed deeper than the height of the corrugation in the other roller and the sides of the rollers are shaped to grip the edges of the strip or sheet.
