Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent both the buckling and the edge folding, by pressing a material to be rolled with upper and lower pressure rolls at the intermediate part as well as both ends in the width direction of said material and performing the chamfering and rolling of the edge part of the material at the truncated conical part of the edge pressure roll. CONSTITUTION:Edge pressure rolls 4 and 5 are set at the positions close to the insides of right and left longitudinal rolls 1 and 2 so as to press a material 3 to be rolled at the edge part of the width direction of the material 3, and at the same time intermediate part pressure rolls 10 and 11 are set to upper and lower housings 6 and 7 via roll stands 8 and 9 to support the material 3 from upper and lower sides at the intermediate part in the width direction of the material 3. Furthermore a columnar part 17 is formed to the rolls 4 and 5 at the sides of the rolls 1 and 2, at the same time a truncated conical part at the inside of the roll 1. Thus the rolls 4 and 5 can move in the width direction of the material 3. In other words, the shaft centers are positioned within a face for the rolls 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 11 respectively. Thus the material 3 is clamped at the upper and lower sides by the rolls 4, 5, 10 and 11 to perform edging.
