Class 132(3) A toy gun has recoil simulating mechanism comprising a recoil weight, a tensionable spring for moving the weight abruptly, means to tension the recoil spring, and a trigger to release the recoil weight and spring to simulate recoil. The recoil weight 30 slides on a rod 52 which supports a spring 32. Cocking the lever 16 engages a hook 78, linked with the lever, with one of two detent projections 84, 86 on the weight and tensions the spring. A hook 88 on a pivoted sear, engages the other projection to retain the spring. Operating the trigger 18 releases the hook by raising a projection engaging the other end of the sear. The weight has two studs 66 engaging in guide tracks 64, and has an end bumper 54. The spring urged hook 78 has trunnions 80 moving in a guide track 82, shaped to move the hook into engagement with the projection 84 when the lever 16 is cocked, and when the lever is restored disengages the projection. The trigger has a hook which engages the end of the hammer and holds it against the action of a spring on a supporting rod. Pulling the trigger allows the hammer to move to strike caps on a strip passing round an anvil fed from a roll and induced by a spring urged pawl 44 pivoted on a pin 46 on the hammer head and engaging a ratchet wheel. Cocking the lever 16 causes an extension 74 to engage a hub, on the pin 46 and on the pawl and forces the pin and pawl to move and rotates the ratchet wheel and anvil. A projection on a neck attached to a push button engages ears 160 on the cap mechanism secured to the cocking lever to lock the lever, pressing the button releases the projection from the lugs and unrocks the lever.
