Abstract

897,783. Valve oscillating circuits; R.F. couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Dec. 16, 1959 [Dec. 23, 1958], No. 41484/58. Classes 40(6) and 40(7). An induction heater comprises a high frequency oscillation having a tuned tank circuit back coupled to the feedback network consisting of a divided capacitance, by a variable ratio transformer whereby to modify the voltage across the tank circuit and hence the RVA output of the oscillator. The oscillator is essentially a Colpitts oscillator having a tuned tank circuit 2 comprising a capacitor 4 and an inductor 3; the coupling to valve 1 being over the adjustable transformer 8, 9.
