Abstract

897,224. Bracelets. TAYLOR, M. J. Oct. 5, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 34227/59. Class 43 Bracelet securing means comprise a resilient strip 16, which is secured at one end to a fastener portion 10 and slidably engages in a guide position 11 and has a single locking tongue 20 integral therewith and means being provided on the strip at or near the end thereof remote from the locking tongue to limit the travel of the strip out of the guide portion 11. The strip 16 slides in a slot 17 in end plates 14, 15 on the tubular hinged portions 10, 11. The tongue 20 engages behind the plate 15 when the plates are in contact. A projection 18 at one end of the strip passes through an aperture 19 at the end of the portion 10. Pressure on the projection frees the tongue from engaging the plate and allows the bracelet to expand, by the strip sliding in the portion 11. A bent over tongue 22 (not shown) contacts the plate 15 to limit the travel of the strip. The ends of the strip may be stepped to urge the strip to engage the tube. A bent up portion of the bracelet may form a support for the projection 18. The end of the projection 18 may contact the inner wall of the portion 10.
