897,083. Packaging. ROWNTREE & CO. Ltd. Sept. 4, 1959 [June 25, 1958], No. 20424/58. Class 94(1). Packages of mouldable substances such as jelly or chocolate are made by forming a heated plastic web or sheet into moulds by mechanical means, air pressure or vacuum, pouring the molten substance into the mould, cooling it or allowing it to cool and applying and securing a cover sheet. The cover sheet may be heat sealed round each mould with an unsealed or readily releasable area which after severing between moulds or groups of moulds forms an opening tab 6. Each mould may include crossed ribs as shown to facilitate breaking of the chocolate or dissolving of the jelly. The cover sheet may be of different material from the mould.
