Abstract

896,648. Rolling. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. June 8, 1960 [June 11, 1959], No. 20035/60. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXX] In apparatus for the intermittent rotation of multi-surface bars and the like around their longitudinal axes pivoted double-armed levers 8 move the bars progressively across a saw-tooth frame 5. A motor 24 drives a crank 12 to oscillate the levers 8 through a link 10 and a common thrust-rod 9. The bars 3 are sorted from a random heap 2 by a known arranging apparatus 1 and are conveyed across the rack from recess to recess by the levers 8 which at each movement turn the bars through 90 degrees for inspection purposes. The levers 8 are arcuately shaped at 8c, the bars resting against the latter portion before sliding down into the next recess. The crests 19 of the frame 5 are also curved. The bars 3 are pushed on to feed rollers 15 for transfer to a furnace by an extension 13 of the thrust-rod 9. Rejected bars are lifted off the rollers 4 by a pivoted arm 15 and slide into a scrap-trough 17. Several sets of levers 8 may be arranged along the length of the bars.
