Abstract

894,680. Bracelets. CHANG CHING UM, [trading as CHUNG NAM CO.]. Jan. 29, 1959, No. 3263/59. Class 43. An extensible wrist band comprises hollow links 1, 2 arranged in two superimposed rows in staggered relationship and hinging with respect to connecting links against the action of springs 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, the connecting links comprise U-shaped components 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and the hollow links are of box construction with open ends each end pivotally receiving one end of two connecting links and the hollow links in each row have bent over ends to retain the connecting links in position while permitting pivoted movement of the connecting links, the spring action being obtained by means of coil springs each of which encircles one link of each of the U-shaped connecting links and is anchored respectively by its ends to an adjacent hollow link in the upper and lower rows to resist pivoted movement of the links when the hollow links are moved from their closed positions. The upper links comprise an inner sleeve part 18 and an outer part 17 with lugs 23 which are bent under to secure the sleeve. The side walls are cut away adjacent the end walls 22. The lower links are open ended, box shaped, with upwardly bent end plates 12, 12<SP>1</SP>. The connecting links have a short and long link 6, 7. The springs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> surround the links 7, and have an offset end 26 which anchors on the inner wall of the link 2 and a hook end 28 which engages the short link 6. A two part connector 30 connects the band to a watch case.
