[Class., 83 (ii)] [Also in Group VII] Links for forming a flexible band, e.g. a watch strap, of the basket - weave design are bent up from sheet metal. Each primary link of a band is formed from a blank 13 and comprises end bars 17, 18 which have flanges 25, 26 and are held apart by perpendicular bars 19, . 21 connected by inclined cross-members 22; a projection 23 extends from each end of the cross-members and a longer projection from each end of the bars 17, 18, these projections 23, 24 being bent round to encircle and thus form sleeves 20 for hinge-pins 15, 16; the flanges 25, 26 are then bent over to prevent endwise movement of the pins. Each secondary link, formed from a blank 14, comprises cross-members 27, which are held apart by a perpendicular bar 26<SP>1</SP> and are inclined in a direction opposite to the members 22 of the blank 13. The crossmembers 27 have at each end extensions 28, 29 which are positioned between the extensions 23, 24 forming the sleeves 20 of the primary link, and are themselves bent round the pins 15, 16 to form sleeves 30 for the latter.
