Class 64(2) A chest for transporting frozen food has an outer shell made from expanded metal sheets 8, angle iron members 4 and strips 7, 9 and 10 and lined, Fig. 2, with aluminium foil 16 and blocks 17 of glass fibre. Fitted into the lined outer shell is an unlined inner shell, Fig. 3 (not shown), constructed in similar fashion but with the angle members and strips inside the expanded metal and with a bottom formed by a tray of unspecified material. To accommodate a lid made in two parts 48, 49 which are hinged together Fig 5 (not shown) and are perpendicular to one another when the lid is closed, Fig. 1, the front walls of the shells and the top wall of the chest are U-shaped. The top of the inner shell is covered with a U-shaped sheet of expanded metal, Fig. 3 (not shown), and over this, resting on the glass fibre blocks 17 is a wooden cover frame secured by screws, Fig. 4 (not shown) to the tops of the shells. This wooden frame has members outlining the opening closable by the lid 48, 49 and there are rubber strips, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) secured to the lid or frame for sealing the meeting edges. There are glass fibre blocks in the wooden frame and overall cover is provided by extension of the aluminium foil lining 16 and by a U-shaped metal cover 44 with outer edge flanges 45 screwed to the edge of the wooden frame. The lid 48, 49 consists of two wooden frames hinged together, bounding glass fibre blocks and with an outer layer of aluminium foil but covered on both inner and outer surfaces with sheet metal nailed to the frames. A hinge 59 connects the lid portion 48 to the metal cover 44 and to the underlying wooden frame while arms 65 on the portion 49 prevent the lid entering the chest in the open or closed position.
