Abstract
The invention comprises trimeric phosphorus nitrilo compounds of the formulae P3N3(NH2)3A3 and P3N3(NH2)3A3.3H2O, believed to have the structure <FORM:0892775/IV (b)/1> and <FORM:0892775/IV (b)/2> respectively, where A is either R or OR, R being a hydrocarbon or fluorinated hydrocarbon group, such as C1-6 alkyl, phenyl, mono-(C1-4 alkyl)-phenyl, fluorophenyl or fluoromethyl. The compounds P3N3(NH2)3A3 are prepared by reacting a compound APX4, where X is halogen, with liquid ammonia, optionally in an inert solvent; on reacting the products with water, the compounds P3N3(NH2)3A3.3H2O are obtained.
