Abstract
891,914. Double walled panels. BENNETT, M. Dec. 16, 1959 [Sept. 29, 1959], No. 32976/59. Class 20(3) A light transmitting or opaque panel having an air space or cavity between two layers of flexible sheet material such as polythene comprises a pair of frame members 13 or bars which are inserted in the sheet material of at least initially open ended tubular form or formed thereto as by securing two opposing sides of the sheets to one of the members 13, and are thrust apart therein and then secured in the thrust apart condition as by a cross-bar 17 with end tenons 15<SP>2</SP> received by mortise slots 15<SP>1</SP> provided in the ends of the members 13. The bar 17 may be pivoted to one member 13 and an intermediate cross-bar 19 pivoted at one end to one member 13 may be pulled into its transverse position against a stop 16 by means of a cord 18. The ends of the panel may be closed by securing them to the cross-bars 17 or by sealing the ends about the cross-bars. Vent holes 20 in either one or both end bars 17 minimises condensation within the panel.
