Abstract

891,358. Net or lace fabrics; warp knitted fabrics. STAPLEFORD NET CO. Ltd. Feb. 9, 1960 [Feb. 16, 1959], No. 5292/59. Classes 74 (1) and 74 (2). Rubber or other rubber-like warp threads, which are entirely devoid of any helically wound coverings of yarn and which have previously been rendered smooth and slippery (in order that they shall readily flick off needles or other instrumentalities and shall not readily be penetrated or cut by needles during sewing) are embodied in net or lace fabrics which incorporate at least one set of warpwise extending and laterally connected or interconnected threads. A silicone may be used as the lubricant, which must not be readily removable from the thread, or attack rubber, or clog the machine. The fabric may be, say, a plain or bobbin net, twist net or lace, or a warp knitted fabric. Bobbin threads may be of a polyamide or polyester.
