[Also in Group XXXIV] In a bearing assembly for guide or conductor rollers in tanks containing liquids, a stub-shaft 5, connected to the roller 3 and, in Fig. 2 shown, carrying a chain sprocket 32, extends through the wall of the tank and through sealing means positioned outside the tank; a bearing is located outside the tank and is received by a recess 5b in the stub-shaft; and the stub-shaft 5 is connected to the roller 3 by a Cardan joint comprising a fork-shaped extension 4 of the roller connected to a portion 5a of the shaft 5 by a cross-peg 8.
