Abstract

890,017. Abrasive blasting. HENNIKER, W. B. March 17, 1959, No. 9156/59. Class 60. The pins of miniature thermionic valves are cleaned by abrasive powder projected by compressed air. A cylindrical member 10 is mounted on a base plate 11 and contains a tray 14 on which is fine sand, grit or carborundum powder. A nozzle 16 projects upwardly through the tray 14 and communicates, through a non-return valve 18, with a nipple 19 for connection to a bicycle pump. A sleeve 20 of plastic, rubber, &c., has a shoulder. 21 seating on the upper end of member 10 and is splayed outwards to receive the lower end of a miniature valve 23; the sleeve can be replaced by another having a different internal diameter. An air outlet 25 is provided.
