Abstract

889,917. Attaching wrist watches to the person. VOUMARD, B. June 10, 1960 [June 18, 1959], No. 20576/60. Class 43 A watch case comprises flat surfaced lugs set at an angle to the plane of the case, each lug having at least one aperture to receive a screw or other fixing member by which the end of the strap can be secured in position with its end abutting the perimeter of the case. Each lug 1 has at least one threaded boss 4 which passes through a perforation in the band 5 and a screw 9 joins the boss to a small plate 7. The shape of the end of the band corresponds with the perimeter of the watch case 3. The end of the band may rest on the lug and engage beneath a tab on the watch case, the screw passing through the lug and into a metal insertion in the end of the band. Alternatively the screws engage a plate having threaded bosses passing through perforations in the strap. The end of the strap may engage in a notch in the watch case. The rim of the watch case incorporating the tab may be exchangeable to vary the appearance of the watch case. The lug may extend from the rear of the watch case and the band engaging surface may have serrations or the like.
