Abstract

888,973. Photo-electric exposure control. AGFA A.G. May 1, 1959 [May 10, 1958], No. 15036/59. Class 40(3). [Also in Group XX] In a camera with a coupled exposure regulator of the type comprising a photo-electric exposure meter with an indicating needle, means for clamping the same in the indication position and a follow-up pointer, coupled to exposure value setting means, arranged to contact the needle, in which regulator a driving member for the follow-up pointer is connected on one hand" with the coupled exposure value setting means and on the other hand by way of an overload coupling with said pointer so that on arrest of the pointer by the clamped exposure meter needle the said driving member continues its angular movement, the construction is such that during this continued movement the driving member also becomes axially displaced with reference to the pointer and meets arresting means so arranged that its position when arrested is in predetermined angular relation to the position of the needle. As shown, a follow-up pointer 8 is pivotally mounted about a pin 11 by means of a bushing 10. A driving member 13 for said follow-up pointer is screw-threadedly mounted on the bushing 10 and is coupled thereto by way of an overload coupling comprising a spring 16 connected to the members 10 and 13 and urging abutments thereof together. On depression of a body release 29 for exposure, by way of a rods 31 coupled to said release 29 through a spring 39, a spring-urged clamping plate 6 for clamping the exposure meter needle 3 is released and an arm 9 of the driving member '13 is rotated. On engagement of the clamped pointer 3 by the follow-up pointer 3, the overload coupling is broken and the driving member 13 continues to rotate on the threading of member 10 against the loading of spring 16 until an abutment surface 19 of the member 13 engages with a fixed arresting surface 12. The exposure value setting means (not shown in detail) is thereby set according to prevailing light conditions by way of the coupling 37, 38. Release of the shutter is effected when projection 32 on release 29 engages with release rod 33. A return spring 40 is provided. The galvanometer 2 may be rotatably coupled to a knurled ring 25, 26 for setting in terms of film sensitivity.
