888,655. Moulding rubber &c. STANDARDTHOMSON CORPORATION. Feb. 20, 1958 [Oct. 15, 1957], No. 5492/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups XIII and XXXVII] In a temperature-responsive actuating- element (see Group XIII) in which the expansion of a fluid bows a cup 52 of polytetrafluoroethylene to distort a body 56 of resilient material such as rubber, the body 56 is moulded and cured in position in a housing 22 of the element. The inner surface of the housing not covered by the cup 52 is coated with bonding material, a pin is shaped and positioned like the operating pin 24 shown and uncured material is injected through an axial hole in the mould pin and, while pressure is sustained, the housing is heated.
