Abstract
888,393. Copying documents. BLOCK & ANDERSON Ltd. Feb. 23, 1960 [March 2, 1959], No. 7182/59. Class 100(2) In a hectographic or like duplicating machine having a manually operated crank handle directly connected to the printing drum, the handle is provided at its free end with a stop member positioned normally to engage with a stationary abutment on the machine frame in a position which positively arrests the drum in the correct initial or starting position thereof, the stop member having a pressure-applying portion overlying the end of the handle in its starting position and being movable manually against the action of spring means to a position which is clear of the abutment to allow beginning of a new operative stroke of the handle. The stop member 14 is mounted on the crank arm 12 by a pivot pin 18 and is formed of a metal plate with an inturned lug 15 to engage the abutment 19 and with an outwardly turned thumb piece 16. A spring 17 urges the member into the operative position illustrated. The handle is detachable from the drum axle 22, the boss of the handle having a projecting spigot pin 11 having a flat surface for co-operation with a complementary D-section region of an axial bore in the axle.
