Abstract
887,762. Mineral-mining equipment. BOLIDENS GRUVAKTIEBOLAG. July 12, 1960 [July 17, 1959], No. 24239/60. Class 68(1). In raise-driving underground a man and drill-carrying cage 9 is winched up into a raise 3 by a winch in the cage acting on a fixed cable 7 extending down into the raise 3 from a gallery 5 at a higher level, through a bore 6 extending from the gallery 5 to the raise 3, so that, after the head of the raise has been prepared for blasting, the cage can be lowered from the raise. The cage 9 is drawn clear of the raise after being disconnected from the cable 7, which is drawn up into the bore before the raise is blasted. After blasting occurs the cycle of operations is repeated.
