Class 146(1) A device for containing mounted and/or unmounted transparencies comprises a strip of paper or the like folded in zig-zag fashion to form compartments into which the transparencies are inserted and kept free from dust, the bottom edges of the compartments being connected to a flat belt of elastic or inelastic material whereby pivotal forward and backward movement of the compartment walls can take place, and the bottom of the strip can slide upon the inner bottom of a box-like container in which the folded device is placed, so that the transparencies can be recognized in their collected position without removing them from the box-like container. In an alternative construction, some of the bottom edges of the compartments are connected to rodlike members which project from the sides of the compartments and are slidable in grooves in the side walls of the box-like container. The zig-zag strip may consist of a number of two sided folder units fastened together at their top free edges. The end walls of the box may be hinged to the base thereof, so as to open outwardly, and thus permit the compartments to be opened to a greater extent. The depth of the compartments is made such that the transparencies proper are covered and thus kept free from dust, but the top of the frame is exposed so that notes thereon are visible.
