Abstract

887,124. Projectiles. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. Jan. 27, 1960 [Jan. 28, 1959], No. 2971/60. Class 9(1). An armour-piercing projectile 1 comprises a metallic core 4 in an outer metallic casing 3 and at least part of the surface of the core is covered by an interlayer 5 of synthetic plastic material see also Fig. 2 (not shown) whereby the core is firmly secured within the outer casing. The synthetic plastic material may be thermoplastic such as polyethylene polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, or a polyamide, or thermosetting such as a phenol resin, an epoxy resin or a polyester.
