Abstract

886,935. Magnetic sound and picture apparatus. DOMINUS (ENGLAND) Ltd. Nov. 3, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42120/59. Class 40 (2). In a reversible tape recorder drive, withdrawable jockey pulleys 5 establish driving engagement between a reversible motor shaft 1 and a supply drum 11a or a take-up drum 11b, respectively, under the control of a V-notched slide bar 13 whose notches 16a, 16b permit the movement under spring tension of one or other of the said jockey pulleys to establish the said driving connection, characterized in that the said notches are so located that the appropriately operated jockey pulley is moved towards its drum obliquely against a tension spring 9a or 9b when moved to the operative position, the out-of-line spring subsequently serving to move the jockey pulley away from the drum when being withdrawn to the inoperative position.
