Class 123(2) In a heat exchanger for the evaporation of water and of the kind described in the parent Specification, wherein a separate external steam and water drum m and a circulation pump j with a by-pass y for natural circulation is provided for each pressure stage, an injector is incorporated at the junction between the downstream end of the by-pass y and the conduit leading from the pump j. The conduit leading from the pump m ends in a nozzle terminating in the throat of a Venturi formed in a downwardly-directed continuation part of the conduit y. When the pump j is operating water issuing from the nozzle promotes natural circulation in the direction of the arrow H.
