Abstract

886,542. Steam irons. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Oct. 28, 1960, No. 37166/60. Class 138 (2). In an electric steam iron having a handle 10 incorporating a water reservoir, the rear end of the handle comprises a space divided by a partition 11 into two chambers 12, 13, the chamber 12 serving as a reservoir and the chamber 13 housing the electrical connections. A packing ring 15 is interposed between the handle 10 and a container 5 which is connected through a pipe 6 to an evaporation chamber 2 in the sole plate 1. The container 5 has a diaphragm 7 which can be pressed against the end of the pipe 6 by a plunger 8.
