Abstract

885,250. Electric selective signalling systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 9, 1958 [May 15, 1957], No. 14905/58. Class 40 (1). In an electrical device for producing a combination of output signals corresponding to a combination of input signals, the correspondence being such that each combination of output signals corresponds to an arbitrarily chosen range of combinations of input signals (the set of ranges of input signals corresponding to all possible output signal combinations including all possible input signal combinations), an input signal combination to be translated is registered on three decimal denominational counters Z1, Z2, Z3, and a pulse generator G is turned on to advance the counters until the number registered therein is the end of the range of input signal combinations in which the combination to be translated lies, whereupon one of a number of points P1, P2, P3, P4 corresponding to the upper ends of the ranges of input signal combinations is raised in potential to firstly turn off the pulse generator G, via its associated PNP transistor amplifier T1, T2, T3, T4, and a resistor R3, and secondly, via a diode recoding network, mark a combination of horizontal leads to produce the required output signal combination.
