Abstract
885,242. Temperature-responsive actuating elements. STANDARD THOMSON CORPORATION. Oct. 8, 1959 [Dec. 5, 1958], No. 34144/59. Class 64(2) In an element in which the expansion of wax in a casing compresses a sock 25 of elastic material so that an actuator pin, Figs. 1-3 (not shown), is squeezed from the sock, an annular member 14 which closes the casing has a central aperture (through which passes the pin) provided with a neck 22. The elastic material, which may be bonded to the closure member 14 and to the casing, extends through the aperture to a body 32 of the material outside the casing. The bore of the body 32 has ridges of a smaller diameter than that of the pin. Specifications 757,429 and 792,797 are referred to.
