In a photographic camera having a focusing scale and a depth of focus scale associated therewith the focusing scale is arranged on the peripheral surface of an adjusting ring and the depth of focus scale is arranged on a surface, approximately at right angles to the axis of this ring, of a carrier surrounding the adjusting ring, and the depth of focus scale is covered by a transparent ring the exposed surface of which seen in cross-section is substantially straight and inclined and extends between the focusing scale and the surface carrying the depth of focus scale. As shown, a transparent ring 9 covers a depth of focus scale 10 and is secured together with an annular ring 15 on which the scale 10 is marked to an objective mount 2 by means of screws 16. The ring 9 carries an index mark 8 on its exposed surface for co-operation with a focusing scale 7 on a rotatable focusing ring 6. Said scale 7 together with diaphragm aperture and exposure time scales 3, 4 (Fig. 2, not shown) are visible from the direction of arrow 12, but owing to the transparent ring 9 the depth of focus scale 10 may only be seen clearly from the direction of arrow 13. In modifications the ring 9 may be shaped so as to form with the member 15 a thin walled hollow body Fig. 4, not shown. In further modifications the scale 10 may be formed directly on either the rear surface of ring 9 or on the mount 2.
