885,002. Telescopic struts. BURTON, J. May 25, 1959 [Feb. 26, 1958], No. 6153/58. Class 20(2) A telescopic strut comprises an externally threaded tube 10, a sleeve 17 screwed thereto, and an upper tube 22 connected to the sleeve 17 by a pin 20, and holes 19, 21, the upper end of the sleeve being deformed inwardly at 23 to closely engage the tube 22. The tube 10 has a sleeve 11 welded to its lower end to receive a lower tube 16 to which it is secured by a screw 26. The tube 10 is rotated by a handle 14 to adjust the length of the strut. Spigot portions each comprising two tubes of different diameters may be attached to the end of the strut to permit the attachment of extension tubes of lesser diameter than the strut.
