Abstract

884,389. Lens mounting for binoculars. D & D. CO. Inc. Feb. 10, 1960 [Feb. 25, 1959], No. 4677/60. Class 97(1). A lens mounting arrangement for a binocular telescope comprises two compact rectangular lens casings e.g. mounted on a connecting bridge; at least two rectangular shaped lenses 20, 21 and 22 are mounted on a sleeve 25 the lenses being of different width in a direction perpendicular to their optical axis and each comprising two straight edges joined by two arcuate edges. The sleeve 25 has a shoulder 32 between the portions holding the two lenses which are held in place by a flange 35 and lugs 41 and which are separated by arcuate spacers 37 (Fig. 3) or by beads of cement 46 and the flange 32 (Fig. 5).
