In a device for guiding a cable from measuring and indicating instruments on a ship to one or more towed devices especially to measuring devices on a trawl net, the cable is taken from the instruments via a cable pulley or winch to a pulley 6 swingable pedulum-wise at the end of a jib 5 disposed above the working deck above the point where the towed device is put out and hauled in and which in the working position projects beyond the side of the ship. Instead of being mounted on the upper deck 3 the jib may be fastened on the trawl line gibbet 1 or 2. Fig. 2 shows the jib 7 mounted via a bolt 10 on the gibbet 2 with its trawl line pulley 8 the jib being provided with the pulleys 6 over which the cable 11 is led.
